Anthocyanins are the compounds that help to reduce the uric acid in the blood. In addition, Anthocyanins help to dissolve the uric acid crystals that form in the joints. As high levels of uric acid pump through the body, tiny participants or uric acid crystals tend to deposit themselves into the large spaces between the joints. These large spaces are usually in the big toe area and were other large joint spaces exist. As they jagged crystals begin to pile up, they start the cause pain the near gout and thus you begin the feel the pain of the gout.
Cherry juice gout relief has been around for a number of years. The first recorded event of the cherry juice gout relief was from the 1950's when a doctor named Ludwig Blau rose from his wheelchair after eating cherries. His gout was cured and Dr. Blau credits is recovery from eating cherries every day.
To further back this claim about cherries and gout relief, a study from the University of California reported that a consuming cherries daily reduced uric acid levels in the women participating in the study by about 15%. This is good and bad news. The reason it is bad news is fresh cherries are only good for a very short time during the summer harvest. The good news is you can get tart cherry juice concentrate year round. So you can get this cherry juice gout relief drink all year long.
However, it's also known that someone can have relatively high levels of uric acid and never suffer from gout. And others can have relatively low levels and are gout victims. It depends on the individual circumstances. There are many other factors to consider including any family history of gout / arthritis, metabolism, weight problems, body acidity, medications, any medical conditions, and more. Now it's known that recurring gout can leave you with permanently damaged joints and kidney problems including painful kidney stones. So the aim should be to eliminate the agonizing pain as fast as possible, but, at the same time, preventing your gout returning.
One of the big reasons why you may have gout is because other members of your family have it. It appears to be genetic in some cases. If your dad has it, you are at higher risk for getting it too. That means you should take preventative measures if you can.
Weight can also be a huge contributing factor. If you are overweight, you have a higher likelihood of developing gout. Losing weight can lower your chances for having problems with excess uric acid build up.
What you eat and what you drink can also lead to problems with gout. Foods that are high in purines are often the biggest culprit when it comes to dietary causes. Though much of the blame is laid on high purine animal proteins, some have stepped back from that saying that though they are problematic, its more a combination of a lot of the wrong foods. There are also some medications that can raise the levels within the body. If you already have gout, or you think you are high risk to get it some time in the future, you should talk to your doctor about an alternative if you are given a medication known to raise levels of uric acid. There may be other things you can take, though that is not always the case. It will depend on your condition and your treatment options.
In addition, tophi are another type of crystals that can be visible under the skin. The tophi are gritty or chalky and it is particularly found around the joints and in the edges of the ears. Tophi are also found inside the bone near the joints, in the kidneys or other organs causing permanent damage (chronic gout).
During gout therapy, the initial goal is to reduce the intensity of the pain. Consequently, the gout attacks will reoccur if the uric acid levels are not reduced. Therefore, continued gout treatment is critical. The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Disease recommend that gout is treated immediately and properly; this is to avoid further damage to tissues or organs. This damage is generally related to cardiovascular and/or kidney diseases.
For treatment, drinking cherry juice or eating fresh cherries is one popular natural remedy for gout. Like any other natural treatments, its effectiveness may differ from one person to another, but most people who have tried cherry juice have found some remarkable effect on their problems with gout. Aside from cherries, blueberries and apples are also great natural treatment for gout. Rosehip is also another natural treatment for gout especially if you take it as a beverage. You can also take rosehip tea as your everyday drink.
You can indeed fight gout naturally. Understanding gout causes and 00004000 treatments is one of your best defenses. Along with it should be dietary and lifestyle changes that will help you a lot in reducing the level of uric acid in your body. For prevention, be sure to drink plenty of water or fluids each day. It also helps a lot if you maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight can increase your chances of getting high uric acid levels as well and leads to gout.
Gout can be treated with medications such as corticosterones but with these medications also comes the side effects. However, there are natural treatments and home remedies that you can do to lessen the severity of the pain and other symptoms of gout.Gout is a type of arthritis that affects many people - men and women, although this condition often affects men than women. If you have gout, you would often experience pain and swelling which usually starts with the big toe. Aside from the toes and the feet, it can also affect the hand, the ankles, the knees and elbows.
If you are diagnosed with gout, or you are told that you are a candidate for developing it in the future, you can probably trace the reasons back to one of causes mentioned above. The cause for high uric acid level in some people can be made up by a combination of a few of them. If you know you are at risk, starting early with a modified diet can help you, and you should think twice before you drink a lot of alcohol. Share your concerns with your doctor, and ask them for tips to help you possibly prevent gout in the future.
Frequently Asked Questions
increase body's acidity to dissolve uric acid kidney stones?
Can anyone recommend vitamins or herbs that assist the body in creating a high pH environment in the kidney's to dissolve uric acid kidney stones and keep them from recurring. I know there are medications for this and I'm already on those medications. I was looking for a more natural solution to prevent recurring uric acid kidney stones from forming. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I would like to relate my experience. After two operations (the first one unsuccessful, both painful) I asked my urologist how to avoid getting more stones. He is reputed to be the best in the city. He said "drink plenty of water and call when when you get the next one". Note: not if, but when. Thanks, mate!!
So I decided to find out why they happened. I researched all the reasons that can cause them, short-listed them, and did the blood, urine, etc. tests to determine which one caused it. It was an imbalance in the para-thyroid glands causing DHEA and PTH imbalances, along with a couple of lesser problems - dehydration and diet. I found out how to correct that (diet and supplements) and have now been free of kidney since that time, 5 years ago. I will not go into exactly how I did this, because that was specific to me and my problem.
Can I suggest that you do what-ever you can to find out what the original problem is. Drinking water and diet changes are good to do, but there is usually a root cause. Doctors will only treat the symptoms which is too late, by then you already have more stones. Do the research, the work will give you a good outcome.
By the way, just because a food is alkaline, it does not mean it produces an alkaline response in the body. Any protein foods (such as milk) actually produce an acid result. Likewise, lemon and orange juice, although acids, produce an alkaline response. Too much red beets and very green leafy vege's like spinach can actually help cause stones (they produce oxalate in the body) so best to avoid these.
Also, contrary though it may sound, a good quality calcium supplement will help prevent kidney stones in the future. This is because one reason for stones is that when the body is short of calcium (used for almost every system in the body as well as bones) the body will suck it out of the bones to use elsewhere because it is so essential. This ends up accumulating in the kidneys as calcium carbonate or oxalate compounds, which forms into stones. Good quality supplements are made from calcium silicate, which cannot be formed into stones and since it builds up the calcium levels in the body, will help prevent stones in future. Also, calcium in the is form actually binds with oxalates in such a way that they are unable to bind into a stone. Silicates also inhibit oxalate formation. Make sure it also contains magnesium and vitamins D and K, which are needed by the body to absorb calcium. Omega-3 supplements will also help, as does selenium.
One more point. The body is naturally slightly alkaline. Artificially pushing it into an acid balance can cause damage on a cellular level all up to tissue level and have severe long term effects on your health. One of the precursors to people forming kidney stones is an acid body balance. Limit dairy foods and meat of all kinds, limit processed foods and anything coming from sugar, white flour, white rice, potatoes, and other starchy foods. Avoid chocolate (sorry) and especially all carbonated drinks, colas in particular. Brown rice is positively good for you, as it sweet potato, whole-grain breads, fruits, etc.
But please note: there are different types of stones, each with a different mechanism for forming kidney stones. You ideally need to know which type before make a decision on how to deal with it.
One big thing I learned is that if the body is in proper balance and has the nutrition it needs, it knows how to take care of itself and will do so if you give it the right working materials. Good luck, I hope you can get free of this, I know how debilitatingly painful it is.
Uric Acid Kidney Stones (Are they unusual)?
My husband recently passed a kidney stone that was sent to labs for testing. He talked with his doctor yesterday and got the results back. The results show that the stone was made of of uric acid and no calcium in it whatsoever.
The doctor used the word unusual three times when telling him about it being a uric acid stone. He said the more common ones are calcium stones. His had no calcium at all.
Anyway, he wanted to do a 24 hour urine analysis and have it sent off. He had forgotten that we no insurance and said that it could be costly. He's checking on prices today.
While we wait we was wondering why so unusual to have a uric acid stone. My husband only take two medications, which I am not sure if would contribute, He takes carbamazapine and celexa. He also advised him that he's a big MEAT eater. I read that uric acid stones can form from to much animal fat.
So, why so unusual? He's passed it and feels great. Of course he don't want another one, but his using the word unusual three times has me worried and my husband.
What can he do to make his urine less acidic?
Uric acid stones represent about 5 - 10% of all kidney stones. Developing a uric acid stone means his urine is excessively acidic. Some people have a high level of acid naturally. For others, things like high levels of fructose or alcohol can do it. Another more common reason is people trying to lose weight and starve themselves. The rapid breakdown of fat will acidify the blood which will in turn acidify the urine.
I am a male of 58 yrs. I am having high uric acid level and on medication.?
Somebody told me regular intake of lemon juice with water helps to bring down uric acid level and also inhibits formation of uric stone in kidney. Is it correct? If so, how many lemons should I consume?
I seek educated answers only.
Lemon juice is full of citric acid. You are already having high acid level in urine, how can it be ? Lemon juice is off course good for health, as it contain Vitamin -C, but not for you. Drink lot of water, 3-4 ltr per day. More you urinate more healthy. Hence drink water plenty. Continue the medication as prescribed by the Doctor. Take care.

I am fat but I lack of blood ... and I don't have any chance to join any blood donation activities. If I could get better sleep the earliest I can sleep is 3 am and wake up at 7 am. Sometimes I sleep for 3 hours only for few months and I really feel like giving up my life ... It's freaking tired when I work without getting proper sleep. I tried many times to sleep early but end up I just wasting my time turning around the bed for hours. All tips I get from Internet I've tried but seems to be useless for me?

I've done last body check up on April this years and so far doctor said only have to watch out my Uric Acid but still no need to take any medicine. I tried to consume supplements (very good n expensive brand) but after eating I felt my heart pumping faster and I gain weight ... very uncomfortable, then I stop taking any of it .... Am i alien? I'm sick keep on seeing doctor and pay for stupid unnecessary medication and consultation fee and doctors/ clinics are doing business sometime I don't need the stupid cream I also have to pay for it. I think I'm going to die.
Any idea how to overcome all these ?
Thanks for your advise.
My obesity problem caused serious problem only for Uric Acid. Other matters (especially sleeping problem) have been occurred before I started overweight. I was size 11 last 3 years.
Hi - as you mention prostate, I take it that you are a guy.
ALL of your symptoms are weight related.
Consuming supplements and buying creams cannot help you in any way, until you understand this simple formulae:
*overeating + underexercising = obesity / obesity = ill health and early death*
You have sleep apnoea due to the flab at the back of your throat choking off your air supply when you try and sleep.
You cannot sleep properly because you are inactive and because your poor body is trying to digest large amounts of unhealthy food.
Your skin is swollen and boggy due to too much fat and water-retention caused by lack of exercise and too much salty processed foods. Inevitably this will lead to ulceration, or the lesions of diabetes.
ALL of the organs in your body are now coated with a thick layer of yellow glutinous fat. They cannot help but give you symptoms such as those that you describe.
Your joints are giving up because they cannot support your weight.
Your facial skin is coarse and spotty because of the lack of good healthy food and the overeating of greasy fast foods.
You need desperately to get to a Doctor (change your Doctor if you need to), and go on a healthy eating plan suitable for you.
But this cannot and will not work until you face up to the fact that the thing that you love most in the world, your food, is killing you.
Good luck for the future.
