QUESTION:
What's wrong? Urinating every 20 minutes, no infection, not kidney stones, not pregnant.?
Help! I have had frequency of urination for a couple of months - had a course of antibiotics but there was no infection and that did not help. I am really bloated and have a lot of pressure, some pain in abdomen. In the past week, the frequency of urination increased to around every 20 minutes during the day and about 5 times during the night. My doctor gave me FloMax saying it might help with the frequency and could help with passing a kidney stone. (At that point, we both thought it was a kidney stone because I have a history of them). Yes, I know Flo-Max is for men. But it is being increasingly used off label for women for frequency and to help pass kidney stones.
He sent me to get a non-contrast CT scan and it showed no kidney stones. It did show a cyst on my left ovary. The nurse told me if the cyst was large enough, it could be causing the frequency of urination. But when I went to the OB/GYN they said it wasn't large enough (only 2.6cm).
The OB/GYN is trying to send me to the urologist without sending me back to my GP (not sure if my insurance will accept that). And I would like to check out non-invasive tests before they stick the scope up there, ok? What I'm wondering is: has anyone else had symptoms like these and what did it turn out to be? I see similar questions on here but no one ever seems to come back and say what it was after they find out.
This is driving me crazy. Usually I can figure out what is wrong (or at least narrow it down to a couple of things) so that when I see the doctor, I can make sure he checks those out. I have found this to be important since I have been misdiagnosed in the past (more than once). One time I had the same symptoms as above, the doctor treated me for a UTI even though urinalysis was negative, said if that didn't work, come back and we would try something else. I came back but the doctor did the same - more antibiotics for negative urinalysis. I came back again (by this time I was urinating every 15 minutes and my boss was so mad I thought he was going to fire me) and the dr wanted to do antibiotics a 3rd time in spite of yet another negative urinalysis. But by that time, I had done some research and was pretty sure I had a kidney stone. So I requested she order an IVP x-ray (yes, it's old technology now) and she got mad and said well it isn't necessary and your insurance won't cover it. I told her I didn't care, that I would pay for it myself. Amazingly she did order the test. When she got the results, I received a personal phone call from her saying she was sorry, that I DID have a kidney stone and it was obstructing my left ureter and I needed surgery immediately. I appreciate that she had the guts to apologize personally. So, anyway, that (and a couple of other incidents I will spare you) is why I like to have some IDEAS of what to ask about when I go into the doctors office.
Anyone else's experience and results? Please!!

QUESTION:
I need explanation of different pains with Urinary/Kidney issues?
Could someone please tell me the differences in pain and location of pain and symptoms for the following three conditions in a woman?
1. Urinary Tract Infection
2. Kidney Infection
3.Kidney Stones
Thank You
-
ANSWER:
1) UTI - classically burning sensation on urinary, frequency, urgency
2) Kidney infection - usually flank pain, fever, chills
3) Kidney stones - renal colic pain i.e. pain that classically starts in the flank and radiates in a path sort of following the crest of the hip to the genital area. Usually excruciating pain that causes people to writhe in pain, but only when being passed from the kidney to bladder.

QUESTION:
I've been getting really sick for about a week now, but ONLY at night. Help me figure it out!?
For the past week I've been having an upset stomach: nausea, diarrhea, horrible stomach cramps, and vomiting yellow/clear bile. The thing is, it only happens at night, between midnight and 4 am. I'm also abnormally tired during the day. I recently began having light brown vaginal discharge, and while it may just be breakthrough bleeding (I use birth control to skip my periods a lot), it does worry me because it hasn't happened before, and I've been on this pill a few months now.
I was hospitalized a couple months ago (just before I started the pill) with uncontrollable vomiting, extreme abdominal pain, fever/chills, and fatigue/feeling like I was going to faint. At first the doctors thought it was appendicitis, but then when they found out I was on my period, they decided it was "period pain" and sent me home with some Motrin. (Wtf.)
Anyway, since then I've had less serious and painful but still extremely similar bouts of that, which I've been researching. Dysmenorrhea (extremely painful periods that often make you sick) sounds like the problem, especially if this discharge IS "breaktthrough bleeding." If that's the case, I'm not worried; nothing new birth control won't solve.
HOWEVER...my roommate's mom had a shot of appendicitis when she was my age, it went away, she experienced slight symptoms now and then, like I am now, and then suddenly, years and years down the line, her appendix ruptured. Apparently that can be very gradual, and you can feel symptoms beginning years ahead of time.
There's also a possibility I could be pregnant. Slight, but still a possibility. I took one test a while ago and it was negative, but it was really early. I'm worried the discharge's color could actually be implantation bleeding, and as for the getting sick and fatigue and whatnot, some women experience those symptoms just DAYS after conceiving.
My other thought would be food poisoning, but why only at night, and why for an entire week?
So my possibilities, to my knowledge, are dysmenorrhea, appendicitis, or pregnancy.
Additional information: I'm 19, almost 20. I'm on Apri, a generic for Desogen 28. I take vitamins, including 1200 to 1800 mg of n-acetyl cysteine, a sulfuric amino acid that, in this current dosage, is supposed to help with compulsive hairpulling, which I also have. I've heard that this dosage can cause kidney stones or liver problems if you don't supplement it with enough Vitamin C, so even though I've tried balancing the two, maybe I could have problems there too? Also I was born 3 months premature and have an unrelated heart condition (I know, I sound like such a winner having all this crap wrong with me hahaha).
PLEASE let me know if you've experience any of these symptoms and what your outcome was!

ANSWER:
i had the same problem they thought i had dysmenorrhea but i wasen't on my period and they sent me home with apo-naproxen, but it didn't work, my doctor thought it was appendicitis or ovarian cysts, but they didn't see anything on the x-ray and ultrasound than i had a bloodtest where they checked for chron's disease in a blood test, but still no luck.
i don't take any medication, but i have these horrible pains also in my chest, breasts and sides it feels like a stabbing pain, but they only started coming 3 months after the pain started
-they just dismissed me and told me to take advil, talk to your doctor about something that may cause those symptoms that doesn't involve any of the organs in your abdomen
-i know a lot of people who have had the same problem, and did the same things, but the doctors just sent them home cuz they couldn't figure it out..

QUESTION:
What can cause kidney damage or failure in a 22 year old?
After seeing a regular doctor and kidney specialist we have found that my kidneys are not functioning properly. There is protein and blood in urine and a low creatinine clearance level in urine. I don't know the results of the blood yet. Symptoms are mainly frequent urination, frequent hunger and thirst, headaches, weight loss, fatigue and slight to moderate kidney / lower back pain. We have already ruled out diabetes.
I am an otherwise healthy 22 year old woman with two children. Never had any major abnormal test results in my life. The major diseases that pop up (besides diabetes) are polycystic kidney disease and lupus.
The kidney specialist is ordering an ultrasound and biopsy of my kidneys within the next 2 months. I had a CT scan done but she kind of avoided my question when I asked if she found anything. All she said was there were no stones found. I go back and see her next week.
What the heck can possibly be wrong?
I am very petite but have never had any eating disorders. I take Tylenol once a month, if that. I am not an alcoholic lol.

QUESTION:
PCOS, Birth Control and UTI's - HELP!?
So, recently I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. It took me years to figure out why I always considered myself "broken"... I started taking birth control around the age of 15 or so when I missed a period for 6 months. I figured I was just taking extra time to become regulated and I was excited to know that a tiny little pill could offer so many other benefits, too! The pill regulated my cycles, and didnt give me any nasty side effects alot of other women tend to complain about, and I was pretty content with how I was doing... A few years later, at the age of 18, I got my first UTI. I shrugged it off and went on with my life not knowing how much of a war I was about to wage with my body. I got two more UTI's very close to eachother, and so I started washing ALL THE TIME. I pee'd after sex, showered frequently, washed my hands before any contact down there, and even used those little "wet wipes" instead of dry, irritating toilet paper. Nothing helped. I continued to have them, one after another, sometimes more than one a month... I was missing alot of work and couldnt afford it so I stopped making trips to the urgent care center and did my best to tough it out, AZO Standard and lots of cranberry juice in hand. I started peeing blood after the 6th one in about a 4 1/2 month period. Eventually everything started to blur together. It sucked to get out of bed every morning, any extra weight on my stressed out bladder killed me, and just the slight movements of walking jostled my urinary tract enough that It was hard for me to be on my feet for too long. At this point, It seemed like I'd had almost every different kind of antibiotic out there... I had two kidney infections (that were luckily caught early enough before they got too ugly) and another SEVEN urinary tract infections. TMI, but Im sure I passed several stones of some sort, (unless I was eating razor blades and they decided to exit from route 1 instead of 2,) and after a while, I was noticing that instead of searing pain that usually accompanied the passing of what Im sure were kidney stones, I saw little bits of bloody tissue, or maybe they looked like bloodclots. Probably both.. I still dont know why I was passing tissue out of my urinary tract, but the suspicion that someone had put a blender blade on high inside of my bladder was becoming more feasible as the crap continued with no end in sight... That went on for about a year, being no rhyme or reason to why I was getting so many UTI's. There was no way to tell when I was going to get one, nor could I figure out any kind of pattern or specific cause that was leading to the infections.. I saw doctor after doctor, and when I was finally referred to a urologist, he told me I was just "extra susceptible" and I would have to go on a three month cycle of pro and antibiotics.... So ANYWHOS... I went off of my birth control for a good seven months due to a bad moving situation and a redefined schedule... And then I noticed I had not. One. Single. Infection. The WHOLE TIME I was off birth control, I was perfectly fine! I was pissing on cloud 9! In the seven months that I was off of birth control, I started getting all the tell tale signs of PCOS. I didnt know at the time what that was nor did I care about the seemingly little symptoms. I was just happy to be pain free for once. So after I got diagnosed with PCOS, my doc told me I need to be on metformin, or birth control. I opted for birth control, knowing that metformin would be saved for when I was ready to get pregnant. Then, three days after starting the BC again, the mystery was solved. I came down again with another UTI, and I new that it was the birth control causing it, although I had NEVER heard of that being a BC side effect!!
I know this became incredibly long winded, and I havent even asked my question, but I figured the back ground story with details might help with the answer! So, what in the hell is the birth control doing to me to be causing UTI's in me like they're going out of style??? Ive never heard of this side effect from birth control, so Im just hoping someone out there could give me some insight on what the heck is happening! Ive got a follow up appointment with my gyno in a few weeks and Im sure she can give me some answers, but I wanted an explanation from you guys to tide me over for at least a little while! Thank you to all the readers who hopefully managed to power through all of that!
-
ANSWER:
I suffer from PCOS as well. I understand you not wanting to take Metformin until you want to get pregnant. However, I refused the birth control due to all the unpleasant side effects. If birth control in general is giving you problems, maybe you should consider having an IUD inserted to prevent pregnancy and give the Metformin a chance. Or if you would rather take BC regardless, try asking for a low dose BC instead and maybe that will relieve you from the UTI's.

Anyways, I went to the doctor with my dad since I have not been there for like 7 years and tests came back and I had: low vitamin d, low b12, with hypothyroidism and well, I was checking for diabetes and my dad said there that I didn't have no thyroid problems since my mom has it and damn results came back I did, and I've been having really bad brain fog, fatigue, all the symptoms pretty much and my dad doesn't believe it I got my b12 back to normal.. he says the sun will help me when I fucking go out and do something for him since he brags all day and when I get done I have really bad leg cramps at night.. with really bad headache... and he has women coming over and I have to clean for myself and his sorry ass and I tell him that I can't even really do anything I mean I fucking lag like hell takes me 1hr to even do dishes since I'm tired all the time, he comes up with how I should be in the sun when it makes me more tired and I'm taking vitamin d pills anyways.. and b12 he tried to get me to take so I can clean for his sorry ass.. QUESTION:
I just had my routine physical and they found traces of blood in my urine and I'm terrified it may be cancer.?
Of course, the doctor told me it was most likely a kidney stone or an infection but when I asked her if it could be something serious, she suggested bladder cancer. It's supposedly uncommon in people under 40 but I'm turning 39 next month. The doctor told me that the one case she saw was an elderly woman experiencing fatigue and a host of other symptoms. Of course I was told not to 'go there' but I'm still scared to death.
-
ANSWER:
I was in your EXACT position last year. I was 39, had blood in my urine, cancer was mentioned after infections and stones were ruled out. Sent to urologist for cat scans, cystoscopy, etc...turns out it was just scarring on the lining of my bladder from a serious kidney infection 4 years ago. There could be so many simple explanations, I know you can't help but be consumed by the "C" word until you know for sure, so my advice is to see a urologist asap. Good luck!!

QUESTION:
Is there a doctor in the house?
so i just got health insurance and plan on using it whenever this stupid "no prior illness" crap goes through. HOWEVER. For around 7 or 8 months now, I have been feeling horrible. I have all the symptoms of a preganant woman with no pregnancy. Ive been tested for this. Although I have a friend who is pregnant and she doesnt have half the pain I do. I always wake up nauseous.. sometimes i go to bed nauseous, and sometimes im lightheaded... i get ridiculolus abdominal pains... to the point i cant even feel my period cramps anymore. And I used to go mental with pain from those! I could probably pass a damn kidney stone and not know the difference. I feel so tolerant of pain in my stomach that its mildly insane. Sometimes i get really depressed, and sometimes... i cant feel a single thing. it makes me sad later because it makes me wonder why i dont feel love for those i know i love. and why i cant smile at things that used to make me happy and why i cant cry when something horribly sad happens... its the most bizarre experience of my life. i dont understand whats wrong with me. is my headache connected to my stomach pains? am i light headed because of something scary and horrible? why is this happening to me? i mean, even my sense of lust leaves when the rest of my feelings do. and i miss that a lot!!! [sorry to be so open but i really need all the details for a good answer to come out of it!]
sometimes i think i should just get an entire ctscan and an mri and xrays and all just to make sure.. but all that is pretty expensive. im only 21 years old. i dont really have a career or even a job to pay for a wonderful thing like knowing im absolutely okay. having everything done and all that.
it would put my mind at such ease.
Now, i did suspect lactose intolerance, but i have been taking pills for that that a pharmicist insisted on me using. Im still sick ALL the time. are there other people who get these symptoms too?
ask to a real one? you want to pay for it? i dont.
thanks "is that so"!!

QUESTION:
7-yr-old with elevated ALP; LDH; calcium; and decreased creatinine; WBC; RBC; GRAN; HGB & HCT?
(I wrote the following 2 weeks ago, and have since gotten complete medical records for all 3 people. My 20YO daughter had the results listed in the question at age 7, when she began having severe abdominal pain, but her dr didn't talk them over with me or order more tests. She was tentatively diagnosed borderline pseudotumor cerebri in 2007 (age 17) and at that time had high APTT and low INR; she was diagnosed with gallstones 6 months later; she began having seizures 14 months after that and in one of the ER visits for those, she had critical high fibrin d-diber and low INR & PTT, and was evaluated for pulmonary thrombosis but nothing further. Her Blood pressure also all over the place over a 40-minute span, but ignored.
I'm confused. She has been sick again for about 3 years and started having seizures in July 2009; her sister has been sick since Sept. 2006; I have been sick since late 2002.)
Labs in past 4 years include: High sed rate, total protein, calcium, B12, beta globulin; low vit D; ANA sometimes positive and sometimes negative; and we all 3 have had consistently positive leukocyte esterase with negative nitrite and no urinary tract infection. These are from a 49yo woman and her 2 daughters (22 and 20). Same lab results, many of the same symptoms that started 2-3 years apart (some of which come and go in 3-6-month intervals) All 3 have: memory problems (how to do things recently learned, words in mid-sentence); balance problems (can't stand in the middle of a room without leaning on something for more than a couple of minutes); joint pain; bone and muscle pain and muscle weakness; severe hip pain upon standing; slight forward & back nodding from the chest up; 1-3-day episodes of severe pain in lower abdomen that radiates to the lower back and makes walking virtually impossible; blurred spots in vision; sensory anomalies inc. temporary loss of pain sensation, smell & taste way off; right foot loses sensation and makes us stumble after walking a block or two; extreme fatigue; sleep disturbances.
2 of us have: cardiac symptoms inc. dizziness and sweating with bowel movements and slight heart murmur; fat in bm; rainbow-color oil slick in urine.
One (not the same one for all symptoms) has: waking in the morning unable to grip the blankets to throw them off for 5 minutes or so; splinter hemorrhages under fingernails; one daughter has seizures consisting of arched back and rigid limbs, ability to blink in response to questions, a good 30-second warning before she seizes and feels wiped out for a while after each one.
Symptoms remained when girls went off to college; 52yo sister of the mom has many of the same symptoms and lives 2000 miles away; younger sister of mom has the abdominal pain and no other symptoms.
Tests said: no for Celiac, Lyme, toxoplasmosis, thyroid probs.; older daughter diagnosed 14 months ago with costochondritis with bulge in her side just under ribcage, but internal med doc said that was misdiagnosed; mom has had kidney stones; One of our biggest obstacles is the fact that we have no health insurance. Another is that several of the doctors here look at the relatively normal blood tests (and don't really investigate the more unusual stuff) and tell us we have fibromyalgia---really? with seizures and memory problems severe enough to get me fired?---or need a psych evaluation.

QUESTION:
Please for any mothers who have had pregnancies when tubes were tied, read my story!!Need help!Going crazy!:S?
So,this is my low down of my recent story.I am a mother of a 12yr.old son and a 5 yr.old daughter.I had my tubes tied in Jan.2004, two months after my daughter's birth.I had my last period that started very weird for me.Two days prior, I spotted brownish color thinking okay,my period is coming but usually I start off red.(Sorry for detailing but this may help me)then my period commenced somewhat slowly on Aug.15th and lasted about 2 days. Then that Monday night the pain I was getting in my lower back was immense.I couldn't go into work the next day.I usually cramp and bloat like anyone else but the lower back pain was harsh.Once Tuesday was here of that week, when I was done my aunt flo,I mainly get one day of remaining left period (liner) and good to go.My periods lasts lately 3-4 days only but this was different. For 3-4 after I was done, I was spotting brown again but only when I wiped after I peed, nothing on my liner. Then all these things were happening to me incl.the lower back pain that hasn't gone away yet.I got pinching in the pelvic( lower area too) at times sharp like someones stabbed me.Then nausea kicked in,fatigue and light headiness at times.I have been napping every day as I was off work for a week by my doctor because of all the tests and symptoms I have been getting.I feel bloated most of the time,a few times constipated but nothing major.I had a few days of vomiting and sometimes I can hold back but feel queasy if I do.One day,it was 3 times and I have no flu either.I recently feel my breasts heavy and sensitive but not overly.Nipples tender somewhat to the touch too.I went for blood work, urine samples all with my own Family Doctor and because all came back for no infections, etc. She examined me and found my uterus, bladder area sensitive, keeping in mind,no kidney stones,appendicitis,U.T.I.(which I had once and know what that is! Ouchies!) and peeing at times more excessive than normal. The doctor even checked a bowel test, etc.EVERYTHING is OKAY.The ultrasound shown nothing at all and ovaries are fine too. They can't detect if tubes were still tied by the ultrasound to what she told me that they can't.She is stomped right now and I think the ultrasound was too early to determine if I am pregnant if that's the case.My next period is due around the 10-12th of Sept.I have usually a 26 day cycle.I am lost and confused beyond belief.I've heard stories about having tubes tied over a period of time can open the clamp.I did 3 HPT but negative and aware it may be too soon.My son took 5 weeks after my missed period after a false blood test too.My daughter was positive HPT the day after my missed period.I need some guidance and info. that anyone can possibly find for this situation regarding possible pregnancy after tubes been tied.I can't find a good websites anywhere about this.I know it's best I have to wait on if I miss my period but all my symptoms were sudden and point to this but scared too.My b.f. is pumped cause he's got no kids but my own if I am prego and sees all what I am going through and knows I am not myself. Can anyone help with this matter please. I am seriously stomped especially since all my tests were fine to rule out any infections, etc. My Dr. said if worsen that I can keep going to get more blood work, urine tests but it's getting silly.I think she was really baffled about this and told me obviously to avoid any alcohol and take tylenol for pain till this is resolved.I always missed my period for my first two kids and never felt this drained out and my b.f. brothers are twins too.Can this be a high probability as well??Please any advise would be helpful from any mothers or people you know may have similarities to what I am going through. One thing is for sure a woman knows her body and I am definitely not the same at all since then. Thanks!
-
ANSWER:
i am the product of a woman with tied tubes. so no its not effective.
i would continue to test, because if you are pregnant, the longer you go without knowing the more at risk you are for the fetus to damage something. Not that you're worried about being fertile any more, but i hear an eptopic pregnancy can be quite painful.
if you feel any really sharp pains i would go to the ER.

QUESTION:
Haunted house? No joke. Has anyone ever heard of this?
Lived here over four years. My wife and I are 62 and expect some physical problems, but were never seriously ill or had any serious problems before moving in. House is old, built 1892. Divided into 2 separate apartments at some point, probably the 70s. No lead paint or anything like that. I Live upstairs, full 2 bedroom apt. Not bad, clean. Family downstairs has been moved in a little before we did. Here's the problem. Everyone down there has become ill. Different things, serious back and joint problems with husband, psychotic episodes with wife. It's been one thing after another. They're young, 40, and nice people. The same type of stuff started occurring with wife and I two years ago. High blood pressure (230/120) for me when I finally checked it, high cholesterol. Several back pain. My wife started losing her vision and we found she had cataracts. Did the surgery and though her vision is good left eye still bothers her. She woke up one morning two years ago with sever pain in the shoulder. They did everything to her for months and nothing was found. She's never been overweight and has never used sugar or drank soft drinks. Eats a real healthy diet, but was diagnosed with diabetes and high cholesterol 2 weeks ago. The month before that I had to take her to emergency room for high heart beat (191) They fixed it with a special shot that re-regulates the heart. I developed kidney stones over the last several months, and three weeks ago woke up with a swollen knee. It's super painful and I can hardly walk, but I absolutely did not injure it. It was just there in the morning just as my wifes shoulder. Here's the point. A few months after we moved in I found myself looking at the stairway that leads down to the front door and thinking of a little girl. It sounds crazy but it seemed I could see or at least clearly imagine her. She's about eleven and sits at the bottom of the stairs. I think she does come up here but only at night. She didn't frighten me and until all this illness, that just keeps coming, I got no bad feelings. I mentioned to my neighbor and he said he was positive this place was haunted. Until last week I took none of it very seriously, however, my brother in law, who is a minister and who I haven't seen in ten years visited. He took one step in the door and looked at me and said, "Do you know this place is haunted?" He is a very honest and down to earth man. I answered I did and we didn't discuss beyond me saying I didn't feel it was anything bad. Strangely the woman who lived here before us died shortly after moving, as did the woman who lived downstairs before the current neighbors moved in. One other thing that was odd was my best friend visited one day two years ago. We had coffee and at some point he said he wasn't feeling well. He ended up in the hospital that night with a heartbeat of over two hundred and the same symptoms my wife subsequently suffered. My question is can places be bad? Has anyone ever heard of something like this associated with a house, or is this just my imagination from all these problems. I would appreciate any sincere comments. Thanks
Thanks to everyone for the thoughtful answers. It seems more and more obvious that there is little to lose in moving from here and possibly much to gain. Thank you again.

ANSWER:
Yes, places can be bad. You need to get out of there. Others will advise attempting to exorcise the place or tell you that it's your imagination. I think it should be pretty clear to you by now that the latter is not a rational judgment. This does not sound to me like it's something you can easily banish from the house.
I really think you should move.
You can try protecting yourself for now: Get some holy water. Put a stripe or the shape of a cross with the water on each other's foreheads every day, also the same on palms and backs of the hands and center of the chest. Paint stripes of it diagonally across your doors and/or the door frames, both the main door and the interior room-to-room doorways.
Once again, I really think you should move. This is not a trivial kind of problem. You're clearly risking your health and your wife's health. It's worth the expense. Get out of there.

QUESTION:
Midwife has said 9 weeks pregnant is too soon?
to be needing to wee more??
I had my booking in appointment today and because I have had kidney stones in the past she wants me to be checked by a consultant.. I am more than happy with this, although another of her reasons for doing this is because I am going to the loo more often and getting up in the night for the loo....
Bit confused now because I thought this was a pretty early symtom of being pregnant, loads of woman on here say it and it is in most books that it is (personally Ive been like it for weeks and have had no other symptoms of a urinary tract infection)...
What do you guys think?
She has no other reason to think that I may have kidney stones - the last time was years and years ago. I said but weeing more is an early sign of pregnancy isnt it and she said - not really, a bit early at 9 weeks?? My first experience of my midwife and she completely befuddles me!
Im not worried that I have a stone - I dont mind being monitored during my pregnancy cos I would hate to have one now - but if she thinks me weeing is a sign that I have a Urinary infection rather than normal pregnancy symptom - its a tad weird?? Anyway - they have urine samples to test now...
Just wanted confirmation I am not the only one weeing more!!!

ANSWER:
No she's wrong, hormones cause You to urinate more frequently as well as the uterus expanding and being below the pelvic bone therefore resting on your bladder.
She should do a urine test as well as get it cultured to rule out infection though.
Midwifes can be useless and get their facts wrong, for example, i had an appointment at 18 weeks and told her where i was getting most of the movements from the baby, she told me "n that's impossible your fundal height is way below your belly button at 18 weeks"
Well she didn't even check where my fundal height was and my mother who's a RN of 33 years, checked and my fundal height is actually 2 inches above my belly button.
I was say your frequent urination is to do with pregnancy and should ease up soon and come back again when the baby is bigger.

QUESTION:
I need verification from someone who knows about diabetes and kidney failure...?
So this is for a story that I'm writing. I want to make sure that all of my facts are right, here. I know absolutely nothing about medicine or medical terminology. I've tried to research some stuff that would fit with my storyline, and I've got a little bit, but I would love confirmation that what I've got is right. And I know that there are some serious gaps that need to be filled in to make it correct.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of my characters (a woman in her early 40's) has diabetes. She may have experienced some of the symptoms but it overall unaware of her condition.
She faints and is unconscious for an unusual amount of time. She is taken to the hospital where she is informed that she has kidney failure, a complication from her diabetes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alright, that's all I've got. What I need to know is if this is plausible. Also, if there's anything else that you can tell me about specifics that will add authenticity to the story, that would be great. (ie symptoms, treatments, etc.)
AND at the moment, I am planning on killing her off because of the kidney failure. I need to know how long it would take and how it would occur as well as the treatments she would undergo, the type of costs attached, and the decisions that she would need to make concerning such treatments.
Her death, however, is not set in stone so I would also like to be aware of the chances of death and the following treatment and rehabilitation process if she were to survive.

Thanks a ton!

QUESTION:
few questions,menstrual has skip 3 months/PCOS?
few questions, can PCOS make a urine pregnancy test negative? considering PCOS is to do with hormone imbalance, and at home preg test is also.
will repeatedly missing period make a non pregnant, healthy woman sick?
and finally what are medical problems that could cause period screw up, beyond pcos?
Its not stress, its not my diet, no weight change, otherwise normal and healthy. and no i'm not psychologically affecting my af.
please dont post long articles from goggle on pcos. i've already done my research on it. just my questions above is what i dont understand on the issue.
((additional details-- husband and i have been using (very precisely, medical) birth control for last 5 years. has worked so far but method isn't guaranteed 100%. my AF (aunt flo) has always been at end of month. last year husband went into hospital-icu during AF, af stopped immediately due to the stress, restarted 2 months later when he recovered, but was now coming at first of month. has been first of month ever since. 3 months ago i passed a kidney stone 2 days after af started. after pass the stone af stopped, which i understand. my AF is sensitive like that, obviously. but it always restarted as normal in the distant past, no matter what. last month it skipped 2 weeks and only came for 3 days. we thought i was pregnant b/c was having several other symptoms as well. 2 pregnancy test, at home urine, both negative. now this month, again going on couple weeks late. no sign of af, couple cramps for 2 days, no spotting, no nothing. don't want to waste money on more preg test just yet. we've recently begun speculating i might have PCOS, that gyn began noticing 2 years ago but didnt consider serious as af was normal then. from my own research i know pcos screws up period, but does this new "schedule" of mine sound at all normal, even for pcos?))
edit: and i'm going to gyno again very soon for these reasons. just appreciate others opinions on it.

ANSWER:
No PCOS cannot make a pregnancy test negative. No, missing your period won't make you sick. I haven't had my period in 6 months and my doctor said it is fine until I want to have kids, then I would just have to take some medication. You're lucky that your PCOS hasn't affected you drastically.

QUESTION:
Be serious, gohnorrea or bladder inf?
Hi, this is a strange question but, I have always had severe bladder inf since i was little. I couldn't take bubble baths and things bc of it. And I always get kidney inf. I had a stone once. In my kidneys. Recently I heard a commercial giving symptom of gohnorrea. I never thought I would b able to have it bc i lost my virginity to my husband 5 yrs sgo. I was 15 hhe is the only person I've ever had any form of sex with, and we both get tested about every 6 months. Me more than him bc I get regular papsmears. Anyways I currently have a bladder inf that still isn't gone and it said that some women mistake it for bladder inf, and I'm having spotting and discharge but I just recently got mirena. So, Idk. My Dr said the side pain I was having was bc of my bladder inf but it didn't show pos for bladder inf til he sent it to the hospital. Then it was pos for severe bladder inf and I have the kidney pain. Etc. Thanks for ur opinion. If it helps I'm 19 in aug my husband will b 24 in Dec nd I we have a 6 mo. Old son. Also he was with other girls before me like 6 yrs ago. Thanks pls b mature. I hope I'm just freaking for nothing!

ANSWER:
Sounds more like a bladder infection. Its more easier to diagnose gon in a man as he will have his undies full of the discharge. since ur husband ain't complaining of that sounds unlikely.
In addition you say uve been having recurrent infections before you lost your virginity. It may be possible that you could be having Vesico-urethral reflux disease that is predisposing you to bladder.
Things u should discuss with your doctor-
Whether you should go on prophylactic antibiotics to prevent another antibiotic
To exclude diabetes
To do a scope
Other things: urinate post coitus also drink lots of cranberry juice which is said to acidity urine making growth of bacteria more difficult.
